The Science of Human Connection
Our boss: We’d struggle to get 100 sign-ups. Us: Challenge accepted!
Have you ever tried to connect with a human being and wondered how to:
- take the first step
- improve a relationship going forward
- build a connection when one of you is going through challenging times
- talk through a trauma-informed lens?
Watch Jennifer Aberman, mindfulness educator and counselor, talk about what happens in our brain and body when we connect with ourselves and others.

4 Reasons why you should attend this class
1. Resilience
If resilience feels like a purple penguin eating a pink banana in your tropical kitchen, then this is for you.
While it’s okay to not feel alright all the time, you don’t deserve to live in a state of hurting. It does no good and makes it difficult to live to the fullest. It can also affect your sexual well being and pleasure.
To learn how to bounce back from a stressful situation, it’s vital that you’re resilient.
But HOW? And how long does it take?

Let’s let the penguins remain in their habitat and not host them for a meal in your lovely kitchen.
2. Butterflies in your stomach
Butterflies look adorable in the garden. But when they make an appearance in your tummy, oh dear!
That swoony, fluttery feeling in your stomach can occur before any important event. Completely normal.
Meeting your SO’s parents, a new job, an important meeting, a new partner — any event can invite butterflies in your stomach. Send them back with a Butterfly Hug.
Do you want to be able to center yourself? … Not focus as much on that sensation in your tummy and get a grip on your thoughts?
Then join us for The Science of Human Connection with Jennifer on Tuesday, 02 August 2022 at 7 pm NYC time.
You’ll learn why you have the reactions you tend to have, and how you can better navigate them.
You’ll learn and practice tools you can use to shift your reactions to the responses you’d love to have, and in turn, have more fulfilling connections with others.
3. Safety in relationships
When a poisonous snake (or a lizard, lion, angry parent) enters your room, you try your best to save yourself. Why? Because your safety is questioned. That’s how the brain works. It saves you from potential danger.
If you don’t feel safe all the time, your relationships and thoughts can get affected.
When you feel safe in your body, your environment, and relationships, the connection you share with people blossoms. You start understanding them better. Appreciate them more. And become aware of your boundaries and theirs.

4. Said something not-so-nice to your S.O.?
Said something not-so-nice to your S.O. and are trying to resolve it in your head?
Feel that frown on your forehead? Ease it up. We have a class to help — with this one, and future conflicts.
Did you know that saying one mean comment to your S.O. will take more than 9 positive responses to be outweighed in your partner’s mind?
Do you know why? Because the hurtful words create a negative experience.
To deal with negative experiences, you need tools and techniques. Not the ones that pop out of a magical bucket wearing cute bunny slippers. But the ones that have been tested by experts.
